There’s a cool new studio in town, located inside historic Houston Station. Brad Carter Studios & Photography offers acting classes, audition coaching, and professional photography in a moody, vibey space filled with vintage and retro furniture, cameras, telephones, guitars, and unique props for photo shoots, videos, and creative projects.
The studio is also available to rent as a cool one-of-a-kind venue for events.
So excited to welcome this inspiring new creative space to Wedgewood-Houston! 🎭📸✨

The inaugural Bastille Day celebration in Wedgewood-Houston brought out a large enthusiastic crowd of neighbors, families, and plenty of adorable dogs for a festive block party. Participating restaurants, boutiques, art galleries and studios opened their doors, and local vendors and musicians were scattered along the sidewalks. SoHo House even opened its gates to their garden, offering live music, a bar, and passed hors d’œuvres.

It was such a fun day that brought the neighborhood together to celebrate, connect, and enjoy everything that makes Wedgewood-Houston so special. Here’s to making this a new annual tradition!

Bell Bird Books, is Wedgewood-Houston’s newest neighborhood independent bookstore, founded by Mary Ann Weprin. This cozy shop is filled with art, specialty gifts, and a thoughtfully curated selection of books that line the shelves and cover the tables along with pretty fresh flowers.
On our visit, the store was busy with people browsing the collections, flipping through beautiful coffee table books, and discovering their next great read. It’s welcoming and homelike with an ambiance that invites you to come in and stay awhile.

The grand opening of Culture Club , the new gourmet frozen Greek yogurt café in Wedgewood-Houston, brought out an incredible crowd. So many people were eager for a taste that the line eventually wrapped around the block. With a DJ setting the vibe, and a warm, welcoming staff the line moved quickly.
The self-serve experience lets you fill your cup with your favorite frozen Greek yogurt flavors before choosing from an elevated selection of chef-driven toppings. They also plan to feature seasonal collaborations with other local businesses, so there will always be something new to try. Since you’re charged by weight, you can pile your cup high—or, if you have self-control, you can keep it to just a few bites!
Besides frozen yogurt, Culture Club also serves Greek yogurt bowls and specialty beverages featuring Crema Coffee Roasters .
Stop by any day from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and enjoy your treat inside the bright, inviting café, at one of the umbrella-covered tables outside, or while strolling and window shopping along Martin and Houston Streets.

I’ve loved The Wanderlust Girls since the very first day we met, when they walked into my boutique eight years ago. And I always love my adventures with them!

This time, we met for happy hour at The Chloe Nashville, a beautiful new 19-room boutique hotel nestled in the heart of Hillsboro Village. The property combines two historic homes that once housed Asylum Records and Spirit Music, blending Nashville history with modern charm.

With its cozy, residential feel, The Chloe is filled with comfortable furnishings and thoughtfully curated works by local artists and makers. Each room has its own unique personality, and the property features three bars, lovely gardens, and inviting porches perfect for relaxing.

The weather was gorgeous, so we enjoyed happy hour on the deck, sipping cocktails while sharing the French Fries Trio and Pickle Plate. Since the original Chloe is located in New Orleans, the menu has a Creole influence, and I am looking forward to a return visit for lunch or dinner.

Our server was wonderful, and the entire staff made us feel so welcome. He suggested we stop by the pool bar and try the Frozen Painkiller—and, of course, we couldn’t resist! Emily, Abigail, and I shared the delicious cocktail poolside on a striped lounger enjoying the beautiful afternoon weather. I can’t wait for our next adventure!

On a recent visit to Single Malt Cigar Bar in Wedgewood-Houston, I was excited to see my friend Tim Ozgener hosting an event for his OZ Family Ci**rs brand. The occasion was the launch party for the new Maracana and World Cup 2026 LE cigar blends. It was also great catching up with former Tennessee Titans standout Blaine Bishop!

After attending Alla Vita’s opening, we paid a return visit for an early dinner. Located in Wedgewood-Houston, directly across from Pastis Nashville and SoHo House and next door to Middleman Nashville, the restaurant is hard to miss with its charming striped awnings that wrap around the corner.

The space is beautiful, with thoughtful design elements throughout. One standout feature is the attention given to the acoustics, which helps keep noise levels comfortable and allows guests to enjoy conversation without distraction. The long, elegant bar is also an inviting spot to gather with friends over cocktails.

Service was impeccable from start to finish. As a pleasant surprise, our server was someone we had known from another nearby restaurant. He guided us through the menu and offered helpful recommendations. We started with the Wood-Fired Table Bread, topped with taleggio and drizzled with honey, which paired perfectly with our drinks.

Since the food is served family style, the three of us ordered the Rigatoni, Black Truffle & Mushroom Pizza, and Chicken Parmigiana to share.

Wedgewood-Houston continues to establish itself as one of Nashville’s most exciting dining destinations, and Alla Vita is a beautiful addition to the neighborhood. Also, as an added convenience the restaurant provides valet parking.

The beautiful Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center presented “The Flip Side” featuring the colorful and diverse paintings of multi-Grammy winning artist, Steve Wariner. From hit songs to vibrant visual art this multi-talented artist drew an enthusiastic crowd for this memorable opening night.

I was thrilled to see my beautiful friend, Lois Embra VonSchmittou Riggins-Ezzell, longtime supporter of the arts, visionary and Monthaven consultant, looking fabulous and holding court with her many admirers. It was also wonderful to see the legendary music producer Tony Brown, ever debonair, there to support Steve Wariner, his longtime friend and collaborator.

Special congratulations to Executive Director, Cheryl Strichik, Curator, Ruth Chase and Renee White, who served as project consultant from the very beginning of this outstanding exhibition. The entire Monthaven team did a fabulous job bringing this collection to life!

If you have the opportunity, take a drive to Hendersonville and visit the gorgeous Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center to experience Steve Wariner’s paintings and artwork for yourself. The Flip Side will be on display through July 26th. 🖼️✨

What a beautiful evening at the Horticultural Society of Middle Tennessee's “Summer Aperitivo in the Garden” at Cheekwood's Botanic Garden!
Guests enjoyed cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres on the terrace surrounded by Cheekwood’s stunning gardens. Inside, gorgeous floral arrangements created by society members and displays highlighting a variety of trees added to the evening’s charm.
The amazing model train display wasn’t running—but I will be back soon to see it!
To top off an already lovely evening, guests were treated to a glorious sunset providing the perfect ending to a memorable evening. It was a wonderful celebration of gardens, nature, and friendship. 🌿🌸 Horticultural Society of Middle Tennessee Cheekwood
