The Hill House Edit

The Hill House Edit Just a girl with a 1968 house & a lot of ideas. Estate sales, DIYs, decorating & life in between. There’s always another project around here.

Y’all, the good days really are this simple.

Water the plants, love on the dogs, jump in the pool, Steven at the grill… and somehow call all of it getting things done. 😂

There’s always something to do around the house, but put the list down every once in a while and enjoy the home and the people you work so hard for.

Sunday was fully booked. 🤍

See something you love? Comment SUNDAY and I’ll send you the links to shop.

We were out of town. Estate sale shopping was NOT on the itinerary… and yet, here we are. 😂

Steven’s never actually mad—he knows who he married and is always a good sport about my “quick little stops.” Especially when I find something I absolutely cannot leave behind.

Wait until you see what came home with us…

Anyone else physically incapable of driving past an estate sale sign? 😂

Estate sales, thrift stores, Facebook Marketplace—I love the hunt! So much of the Hill House has been sourced one piece at a time. Our Southern eclectic, Charleston-inspired home keeps getting better with every layer we find.

You can’t rush a collected home. Besides…the hunt is half the fun!

“The plans.” Apparently, I had plans.

This room has come such a long way—from the before, to installing the wallpaper ourselves, to finally seeing our primary suite come together. It’s exactly why I love documenting the process.

The wallpaper set the tone, while the paint, lighting, bedding, and collected pieces brought everything together.

I’m sharing the wallpaper, paint color, bedding, lighting and all the room details in my Stories today.

You don’t need a master plan to create a home you love. Start with one thing—a rug, wallpaper, fabric or piece of furniture—and build from there. Mix new with estate sale, thrifted and Marketplace finds. Don’t be afraid of color, and trust what you love. If you love it, buy it. You’ll find a place for it

The Hill House is beautiful, but the life happening inside it is my favorite part.

We fell in love with this 1968 home long before we ever imagined it would be ours, and now somehow it’s the backdrop to our everyday life—the projects we probably shouldn’t start before finishing the last one, estate sale finds I absolutely didn’t need, Steven somehow agreeing to another one of my ideas, two Frenchies who pretty much run the place, family, friends, dinners, porch evenings and a whole lot of laughter.

And somewhere in between all of that, we’re creating a collected home filled with color, pattern, antiques and pieces that mean something to us.

If you’re new here, you’ll get plenty of decorating and renovation—but you’re also going to get the real life that comes with it.

And that might just be the best part of the Hill House.

The Hill House is so much more than the rooms inside it. It’s a 1968 home filled with color, pattern, antiques and pieces collected over time—but it’s also projects in progress, estate sale Saturdays, time in the garden, Steven, two Frenchies and all the everyday moments in between.

We renovated the house, but everything we’ve layered in since is what makes it feel like us. Welcome to life at the Hill House.
