We truly don’t know what it takes for anybody else to wake up and face whatever life throws at them. Be it parenthood, care giving, work, and so much more.

The answer will always be grace. Always. Give grace. Show grace. Always. We truly don’t know what it feels like to be in their shoes.

And to bring this back to our kids. Yes, we need to show them empathy too. As much as we feel like we have been kids before and all that, we truly don’t fullly know what it feels to be them. So extend grace there too.

We just got back from a staycation with NiFeran’s friends. After the first night we were talking about the swim race the kids were doing in the pool. And Feran was talking about how fast his friend swims. I noticed that Feran needs to work on his breath work. So I encouraged him to ask his friend to teach him how to breath better while swimming.

When I realized where the convo was going I immediately asked if I could record. And here is my yap for today!!!

Here is a simple rule. Whenever the kids are gifted anything I try to make sure they say thank you before they use said gift. It’s just a standard practice to make sure we always say thank you.

Parents, always make sure your kids say thank you. Feel free to say it in their behalf but make sure they do it too.

We are raising grateful kids. It just doesn’t happen. Like everything else, it takes practice.
