I have come to realize many things in this journey called life.
Most of all, that it’s up to me to look after myself and my happiness.
If I can’t do that, I can’t expect anyone else to do that, either.
I have to go where I’m wanted and stay where I want to be..
Not try to make people like me or force myself upon anyone else.
That never turns out well.
No, I have to turn and walk away from the people, places and things that tear me down, disrespect me and make me feel badly.
If someone doesn’t know my worth, it’s not up to me to prove it to them.
The right people will always get me…no proving anything necessary.
They will be the ones that love me unconditionally and support me all the time, regardless of rain or shine.
I’m walking away from the rest- the toxic people, the selfish ones and the ones with agendas.
I have to do what’s best for me if I’m going to be truly happy.
No more game players, users and abusers.
I’m filing my life with the unique, genuine and beautifully brave souls that enrich my life and make my heart happy.
The rest of them?
Well, they can keep doing whatever they want to do..
So long as they do it away from me.
I’ve got a train to happiness to catch.
Next stop: adventure.

Keep believing in you! This is for all the ladies out there!

All her life, she was told what she couldn’t do, what she wasn’t or how shouldn’t couldn’t be anything she wanted.
The world tried to tell her she would never be good enough, strong enough or brave enough to become extraordinary.
What they didn’t know about her was that something burned brightly in her depths…
That her passions wouldn’t let her be defeated, quit or give up on her dreams.
All those fears that everyone would have her believe?
She never let those stand in her way.
She was a creature of purpose, destined to exceed and overcome all the obstacles life would put in her path.
It wasn’t a matter of choice, because to her, there was no other way forward than the way she chose.
On the hard days, she would keep picking herself up and fighting back harder.
Regardless of how many times she got knocked down, she’d dust herself off and start again.
She didn’t care about being beautiful, cool or trendy..
She cared about becoming the person she wanted to be and succeeding in the ways she wanted..
Her dreams were never just imaginary wishes…
No, they were very real goals that she planned to reach.
Maybe it wouldn’t be fast, flawless or easy..
But she’d figure it out and find her way.
That’s just who she was and the way she thought.
She didn’t think of anything in terms of “if,” but “when.”
So every day, she looked in the mirror and made herself a promise..
To keep going, to keep showing up and to never give up on her dreams.
Come what may, she’ll get there.
And when you meet her one day and see that knowing smile on her face,
You’ll understand just why she is that amazing person you see before you..
She paid the price and kept fighting ..
And there’s nothing more beautiful than a brave soul that has been through the fire..
And risen from the flames reborn and stronger than ever..
That’s just who she is and will always be.
Strong, proud and free.
