Can you imagine its 38 days to go.❣️❣️❣️

Every child deserves the chance to be diagnosed early, treated on time, and given hope for tomorrow.

This Childhood Cancer Awareness Training is bringing together healthcare professionals, community leaders, volunteers, parents, students, and advocates to strengthen early detection and referral pathways in Cameroon.

Because when communities recognize the warning signs early, more children reach treatment before it's too late.

It is not from my family madam!πŸ’”πŸ’”

Too many children in Cameroon are denied a fighting chance, not because treatment doesn't exist, but because fear, stigma, and misconceptions lead to treatment abandonment.

When a family believes childhood cancer is a curse or refuses to support treatment, the child pays the highest price.

This short drama reflects a painful reality faced by many families. While the story is acted by our volunteers, the issue is very real. Every day, children miss life-saving treatment because of abandonment, financial hardship, and misinformation.

A child with cancer needs love, support, and timely medical care, not rejection.

Let's replace myths with knowledge, fear with hope, and abandonment with compassion.

Together, we can ensure that *every child deserves a fighting chance.*

A child should never lose the chance to fight cancer because a family cannot afford treatment.

Treatment abandonment is often not a choice, it is the result of financial hardship, limited awareness, delayed referrals, and a lack of community support. Yet when treatment stops, the consequences can be devastating.

That is why the Ellaniel Foundation is bringing together community leaders, nurses, pastors, volunteers, parents, and everyone passionate about protecting children for our Childhood Cancer Early Detection & Referral Training Workshop on 22–27 August.

Together, we can build a community that recognizes the early warning signs of childhood cancer, supports families before they reach a crisis, strengthens referral pathways, and helps ensure that no child is left to fight alone.

Every trained advocate can become the reason a child receives timely care and a family finds hope.

Early detection saves lives. Community action keeps children in treatment.

After watching, tell us in the comments:
Before today, would you have recognized these symptoms as a possible sign of childhood cancer?

07/04/2026

Over 80% of children diagnosed with cancer in high-income countries survive.

In Cameroon and much of Africa, that number drops to less than 30%.

Read that again.

The disease is the same.

The difference is early detection, awareness, timely diagnosis, and access to treatment.

Every child deserves the same chance to grow up, go to school, chase dreams, and build a futureβ€”regardless of where they were born.

At Ellaniel Foundation, we believe that changing this reality begins with education, community action, and collective responsibility.

Today, we have one question for you:

If every child deserves an equal chance to survive, what should Cameroon do differently?

Share your thoughts below. Your voice could inspire awareness, influence policy, or encourage another family to seek help early.
