Randi Rahm Icons 🌟: Billy Porter

At the 2019 Golden Globes, Billy Porter stepped onto the red carpet in a custom Randi Rahm embroidered suit and dramatic pink-lined cape — a look that challenged everything we thought menswear could be.

In his book, Billy reflects on the moment as a turning point in his career, recognizing that the response to the cape proved there was an appetite to challenge traditional ideas of masculinity through fashion.

Years later, the look found its way into the Victoria & Albert Museum’s “Fashioning Masculinities” exhibition, alongside some of fashion’s most influential expressions of menswear.

For Randi, seeing this creation move from the red carpet to a museum was a surreal moment and a reminder of the power fashion has to shift perspectives.
