VOZ Based in Chile and NYC, VOZ fashion empowers indigenous artisans and their craft. VOZ celebrates Tradition Through Contemporary Design.

Through collaborative workshops, we provide training in design innovation to skilled rural weavers, beginning with Mapuche communities in Southern Chile. VOZ international designers work intimately with artisans to envision, prototype and finalize our fair trade fashion collections. VOZ’ hand-made garments give a new voice to artisans by bridging centuries of their exquisite craft traditions to mo

dern fashion platforms. VOZ works to empower women and their communities financially, creatively, and professionally. In the face of globalization and vastly disappearing indigenous knowledge, today’s artisans are the last generation within their communities to practice and teach their rich ancestral craft traditions. VOZ give’s these artisans a means of sustaining their culture, by offering them economic and artistic protection for their proprietary indigenous craft forms. Our artisans receive name credit and earn royalties for their designs featured in our collection.

Stories of Spring with   , friend and muse to VOZ of many years.
~

Q: How do you prepare your plants, and how do they surprise you?

A: As an herbalist, I commune with these plants wholly, honoring their spirit in every preparation. I craft oils, creams, salves, and hydrosols through the ancient alchemy of solar infusion, maceration, fermentation, and spagyric work. Jasmine softens and calms the skin, Red and Torch Gingers heal and protect, and orchids lavish the skin with moisture and longevity. Yet what continually surprises me is the depth of their generosity: a flower’s essence, once set free, reveals not only physical nourishment but a subtle, sacred resonance—a beauty that touches body, mind, and spirit alike. In their service, I am reminded that the Divine One speaks in petals and fragrances, always ready to reveal the holy.

Q: What is your garden like, and what blooms first in the early spring?

A: My garden is a tropical sanctuary for medicinal plants, a perpetual miracle blooming year-round under the generous sun of the Yucatan. Hibiscus unfurls in radiant reds, pinks, and golds. Bougainvillea drapes the walls in joyous color, while Plumeria perfuses the air with its honeyed fragrance. Heliconia and Bird of Paradise dance and dangle in the wind like jewels, and orchids, delicate and regal, punctuate the greenery with their elegant forms. Jasmine’s scent drifts like a benediction, and the fiery Torch and Red Gingers mark the heart of my garden with vibrant devotion. I experience great joy every morning when I awaken to these glorious plant companions.

Q: Tell us about something that is inspiring you right now.

A: I have been enraptured by the high Baroque, and in the study of opera, I discover a sacred abundance unlike any other. The Baroque’s ornate overflowing praise is a gift that expands human consciousness. In its melodies and harmonies, I feel lifted beyond the mortal coil, glimpsing the divine in every flourish and ornament.

Q: What are some rituals that you use to initiate a new season?

A: I am blessed to live in the Yucatan Peninsula, where the spirit of my grandfather and the wisdom of the Maya is still vibrantly alive. Each Spring Equinox, I make pilgrimage with dear friends to the Mayan temple of Dzibilchaltún. There, as the first rays of the rising sun pass through the doorway of the Temple of the Seven Dolls, the inner sanctum is bathed in golden light. This divine alignment, a testament to the Maya’s mastery of the heavens, reminds us that the cosmos itself conspires to mark time, to consecrate beginnings, and to sanctify the turning of seasons.

This Spring Equinox, we’re sharing dreams from our beloved , friend and muse to VOZ for many years now.

Q: What does renewal mean to you?

A: Renewal, in its deepest essence, is the sacred awakening that occurs when one invites God to touch the heart with His light and presence. In that moment, the soul is transfigured, reborn—a vessel of pure resurrection spirit. This profound mystery is not hidden; it whispers through the natural world each spring, as buds unfold and rivers awaken. Nature itself becomes liturgy, ministering to the soul and teaching us that transformation is both inevitable and holy.
