Long Weekend Film: La Collectionneuse (Éric Rohmer, 1967) ✨📽️✨

Rohmer’s La Collectionneuse is one of those very chic French summer films where not much happens, but somehow you still want to move to the South of France immediately after watching it. Lately, I seriously want to move to Europe. It follows a group spending the summer near Saint-Tropez lounging around, talking about relationships, and getting involved in each other’s drama. The clothes, houses, beaches, and overall chic summer vibe are what really make the film so good. Not a huge fan of the hairstyles, however the rest of the film is beautifully done. It is going to be a rainy holiday weekend in New York so I also plan to rewatch a few of my summer favorites including La Piscine, A Bigger Splash, The Talented Mr. Ripley and Call Me by Your Name.
