I’m thrilled to share that Michelle Waugh Interiors has been recognized by Architectural Digest as part of the AD PRO Directory for 2025.

It’s an incredible honor to be included among such a talented community of designers who continually inspire and shape the world of design. This recognition is a reflection of the passion, creativity, and dedication that go into every space we create.

I couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead and deeply grateful to be in such extraordinary company.

It’s always such a treat when I get to work with dear friends — and that was exactly the case with our “Salt House” project. This home was rooted in bringing the outdoors in, letting the natural elements of the surrounding landscape guide every design choice.

The goal was to create a space that feels cozy and welcoming for a large, active family, while still retaining the elegance and sophistication needed for effortless entertaining. Oak, natural stone, and steel balance contemporary edge with tactile comfort, connecting the interiors to the coastal landscape beyond.

At the heart of the home are the kitchen and wet bar — sculptural, functional, and designed to encourage gathering, conversation, and celebration. Every corner of this modern coastal sanctuary was thoughtfully layered to feel both lived-in and luxurious, a true reflection of the family’s life and rhythm. I loved every moment of collaborating on this project and bringing this vision to life — creating a home that’s not just beautiful, but a true reflection of the family who lives here that I’m lucky to call friends.

“The Revival” gut renovation project was a true labor of love — a chance to bring a cherished family home back to life while infusing it with the warmth, function, and elegance needed for modern family living. Every choice was made with intention, balancing comfort with sophistication to create a home that feels effortlessly lived-in yet refined.

Natural stone adorns the main spaces, draped windows soften the light, and the kitchen became both a centerpiece and a place for daily life and entertaining. The office is tactile, layered, and quietly powerful, while the boys’ bedrooms were designed to grow with them — timeless, textured, and full of quiet sophistication.

This project was about more than aesthetics. It was about capturing a feeling — honoring the home’s history while embracing the present, designing spaces that reflect the rhythm, warmth, and personality of the family who lives here. I loved every moment of collaborating on this project and bringing this vision to life.

Our “Peaks to Shore” project was an opportunity to translate the sophistication and energy of this New York couple into a serene coastal gem. Designed for a family who loves art, color, and thoughtful layering, this nearly full renovation became a true sanctuary — a place of comfort, calm, and visual delight. Every space was approached like a canvas, blending textures, materials, and tones in a way that feels effortless yet intentional. Natural stone flows through the kitchen, anchoring the home while allowing color to emerge organically — a quiet nod to the family’s love of art. Brass adds warmth and glow, wood brings texture and depth, while steel and glass introduce a sense of modern balance.

This home was designed to move with the family’s life — serene yet full of energy, refined yet deeply inviting. It’s a place where sophistication meets ease, and where every surface, every detail, and every layer reflects the beauty of artful living by the water.

I loved every moment working with these clients and bringing their vision to life.

This week on my Substack journal entry: Some people come into your life at exactly the right moment and quietly change its course. I met Erin Beatty years ago in New York City when we were both first-time moms — a little sleep-deprived, figuring out who we were becoming, and determined to keep creating. From the very beginning, Erin was more than a friend — she became a mentor and one of the most influential people in my design journey. Her brand, , so beautifully reflects who she is — thoughtful, soulful, and endlessly creative. The name means “to mend,” and that really says it all. What she’s built is not just about sustainability, but about transformation — making something entirely new, deeply beautiful, and filled with meaning.

I live in my Rentrayage pieces — they’re effortless and intelligent, the kind of clothes that feel like an extension of who you are. And I’ve loved bringing her home collection into my projects — the throws, the glassware, all the little details that add soul and story to a space. There’s a certain quiet beauty and responsibility in her work that I find so inspiring. Pictured above was our “chill room” for a very special client and the Rentrayage throw pulled it all together.

I’m so excited to share the beautiful world Erin has created with all of you — one built on intention, artistry, and care. It’s a world I’m proud to live with, live in, and draw inspiration from every day. You can read all about it in my latest journal entry in Substack. Link in bio.

This project, lovingly referred to as the Origin House, holds a special place in my heart. From day one, it was about bringing a young family’s dream to life—designing a home that’s as functional and family-centered as it is layered, elegant, and thoughtfully curated.

Every space was created with intention: a sanctuary for daily living that also celebrates the joy of gathering, entertaining, and lingering. Inspired by their summers in Martha’s Vineyard, we infused the home with an ease and softness—light-filled rooms, open layouts, and textures that invite you to settle in and stay a while.

At the same time, we wove in a subtle urban energy, bringing sophistication and vibrancy to the entertaining spaces so they feel contemporary, magnetic, and alive. Layered materials, tactile textiles, and meticulous details reflect the rhythm and personality of the family who lives here.

This was a home we built from the ground up with intention, beauty, and heart.

Moodboarding is my love language. Every swatch, texture, and fragment of inspiration tells a story before the design is even born. I’m endlessly visual, so watching the puzzle pieces fall into place feels electric for me. This is my view from the office today…where raw ideas start to take shape and the vision takes place in color, pattern, and possibility.

1800 miles, a caravan of trail dust…From canyon ridges to arches carved by time, we wandered through nature’s most iconic rooms. Nights were spent beneath the darkest skies in America, where the stars remind us just how small and beautifully connected we all are. The greatest architect? Always Mother Nature. 🌙✨ Read more in my latest Substack journal entry—link in bio.

This summer’s travels felt like a tapestry — threads of beauty, history, food, and inspiration woven together into something I’ll carry forward in my work and life. Cap Ferrat gave me mornings of awe, Bordeaux opened my eyes to innovation, and Paris, as always, reminded me of the joy of discovery. Each stop its own chapter, but together, a perfect story.
