The Virgo in “Pea Green” (P95).

A really unique color and a classic at Selima Optique, P95 (aka “Pea Green”) is a crystal green acetate, which leans lighter or darker depending on lighting (and lens color).

In celebration of our 30th anniversary, we’ve fit our last remaining, original pairs of the Virgo in P95 with new sunglass and clear lenses. Handmade in France in the early 2000s, these frames are now available online and in-store.

(While the Virgo is originally offered as UV400-protective sunglasses and with clear lenses, prescription lenses, alternative lens colors — like these pink ones, and blue light lenses are available by request.)

The Virgo in Black (01).

One of our most unique frames from the late-1990s and early-2000s, the Virgo features a sleek, wide profile with a rounded, catty silhouette that is accented by sharply angled, low temples (creating this subtle ‘upside-down’ look that we find completely captivating — even decades later).

In celebration of our 30th anniversary, we’ve handmade a limited run of the Virgo in Black at our atelier in New York and they are now available online and in-store.

Happy Virgo Season ♍💟

Virgos are some of our favorite people and — with a short, wide silhouette and low, almost-upside-down temples — the Virgo is one of our favorite and, certainly, most unique styles from the late ‘90s.

Here’s one of its very first press appearances, when the vibrant, crystal P23 colorway (a syrupy red face with bright orange temples) was featured in Japanese street style magazine “VITA,” for a spread about silhouette and color recommendations
