Dana Award was someone that many in life looked up to. Not only was he a skilled worker in the submarine industry, avid skier, triathlete, community volunteer and little league coach, but also a husband, uncle, brother, and son. On October 9th, 2019, Dana Award of Waterford, Connecticut, passed away after an 11-month fight with glioblastoma. Glioblastoma is a rare type of cancer that affects the brain and spinal cord. In remembrance and celebration of Dana's life, this shirt was made in his honor and worn at the Mont Tremblant Ironman Triathlon in August of 2019. Dana had been training during his battle with cancer to compete in this race, but because of his worsening condition, he wasn't able to. This shirt is a symbol of the tenacity and determination that Dana showed not just through his training, but throughout his life. His story has not only touched our hearts, but inspired us to give back. With every purchased shirt, a portion of the profits will be donated to brain cancer research. Everyone has a battle in their lives. No matter what it is, fight hard. Do it for Dana.
