This is ridiculous! Although I agree with the Mayor on it starting in the home first, it really does take the community to speak life into our young men.
Not just the parents, but the relatives, the next door neighbors, the neighbors across the street and down the line.
It takes the system finding ways for them to solve differences in a constructive manner, and not the taking of one's life.
It takes schools caring more about the person and not just the scores.
It takes all of us to see past the rough exteriors into young boys and men that are unsuccessfully trying to find their way in this world.
It takes all of us to fight the media machine and help our young understand that the machine is working fine, portraying us as violent, abusive, gang affiliated, s*x crazed, low ability, low IQ individuals that simply want to smoke, drink, shoot, curse, fight, abuse women, and drive hellcats. The machine is doing it's job very well, and it's WINNING! The media machine is training us to emulate what it wants us to be, and it's going to take all of us to stop the madness!
This isn't reality, it's fiction...a story! No wonder the world says "the Africans in America are sleeping." We've been lulled to sleep by a bedtime story. We're living in a dream state. Help us WAKE UP and show the next generation and the world what we can truly become!
