Kayak lovers! 🛶

Have you ever dealt with water splashing into the kayak and getting yourself and your gear wet? 💦

Our fellow PNW adventure-seeker Stephie B of LOVES using her DIRE Adventure Blanket as a Waterproof barrier to keep everything dry in the kayak while she paddles.

Loved my time meeting and sharing knowledge with David, Founder and Owner of Rainier Watch!

Rainier Watch is a PNW company that began with a passion for seeking out our beautiful yet often elusive Mount Rainier. The RW Instagram community has grown massively over the years and now Rainier Watch also runs an apparel shop! David, an expert at growth on the Instagram platform, has grown his branded page to 27 thousand strong with very little if any sponsored content. His sheer persistence at his craft is absolutely an inspiration to me.

I especially loved our first time meeting today, sharing knowledge on mindset, marketing strategies, growing audiences, and even retail distribution. We talked about the importance of providing value to everyone we come across, whether it's collaborative professionals or our clients and fans. We also came to an agreement that it's so crucial to focus on personal, in person connections rather than digital ones. Especially in this day and age.

One of the DIRE Outdoor Gear tenets is to have the DIRE mentality. And that translates to never being a dabbler. I believe that one of the ways as entrepreneurs to never get into the dabbler mentality is to meet with like-minded individuals on the same journey on a regular basis. Sharing our challenges. Sharing knowledge. And sharing victories.

Was a truly valuable time today and I look forward to seeing a lot more of David!

Conquered yesterday!

I went into this hike with zero expectations, besides spending some much needed quality time with friends. And it was perfect just for that.

Around 9.5 miles round-trip, 4100ft of elevation gain. The Mailbox Peak new trail was a bit of an ass kicker. (heard the old trail is even tougher! Same gain in half the distance? 😲)

Tranquil pacific northwest trail scenery for most of the way, with rocks to scale and wild flowers to see near the peak. This climb was well worth it for anyone looking for a rewarding challenge! Hikers leave goodies at the famed mailbox up top for each other as is tradition.

Josh and I have been friends for a few years now and this was our first hike together. Along the way we discussed our love for music, connections, mindset, and love for our community. To say this was a fulfilling experience would be an understatement. @ Mailbox Peak Trailhead

Here is some DIRE merch on its way to .rigo_official for the Parke Diem event in Seattle this saturday June 29th!


I couldn't be more excited to collaborate with my good friend Rigo of Amigo Rigo's Tacos and appreciate the opportunity.

Connections are so paramount to this journey. Everything is about connections.
You rarely achieve true greatness and success, without your success network.
It really is not about what you know. But who you know.

This doesn't mean you seek out people purely for the purpose of advancing yourself and your business. That's not the right mindset. That's a selfishly driven purpose that ultimately will not lead you to where you want to go.

You need to genuinely care. Genuinely listen. Genuinely give. Give to others. Give to your peers. Give to your customers. Help people. Add tremendous value. Any second. Any chance you get.

This is how you thrive. This is where true happiness comes from. This is the way to success.

I came away from put on by the Amazing.com team with a full mind, fuller heart, and a notebook full of wonderful new friends and connections. Not to mention countless pages of amazing new strategies and advice to put into my young business.
I witnessed a business community for the first time that wasn't cutthroat. Wasn't about who is more successful than you, but it was a community cultivated by people that cared, encouraging us entrepreneurs to truly connect and help one another. It didn't matter whether you were just starting or you did 6 figures sales a year, or 6 figures a month (Yes the attendee spectrum was that broad), everyone supported each other.
It was truly an unforgettable experience and a pivotal one for me and my business.

Going forward, I, Jay Chen the owner of DIRE Outdoor Gear, pledge to begin to truly share about me, my business, document my business journey, share my thoughts on personal development, share the challenges DIRE faces, and celebrate the victories together on here.
Let's do this together.
