It's been a long time getting back to sewing. After my room was pretty much completed we had a VERY busy several months back in ministry and I was just too tired to be in there sewing. Then my dad had some health issues and my focus was on being there for him and for my mom. Well, we lost my dad in February and I lost my sewjo. I had no desire to really do much of anything. It was a hard loss and my heart needed time to heal.
Well, even though I'm still going through the grieving process and still healing my broken heart, I've been able to get back into my sewing room for short amounts of time.
I miss my dad SO very much and he used to say I'm spoiled when he came over to visit and he'd catch me in my room. So just being in there, after he was gone made me extremely sad and even perhaps a bit guilty... as if I didn't deserve such a pretty and big sewing space. Anyway, I do love my space and feel very blessed to have it. Just have to work at being in there for longer bits of time so I can get back to bag making more regularly!!
This is what Im working on... it feels like it's taking forever, but at least it's progress! And I've learned a new technique along the way.
This is Charlotte bag, pattern by Shamballa Bags. I chose to do hidden strap connectors on this bag instead of using bridge connectors as the pattern calls for. SO far I'm loving the design! Vinyl is from Your Vinyl Source and Indo Love Kreation; hardware from Fireweed Stitches.
