For decades, your federal duck stamp dollars have gone towards purchasing wetland easements from private land owners in the Prairie Pothole Region, the Duck Factory!!

Legislation is currently in place that protects the wetlands and potholes in this region by placing tile setback restrictions. These drain tile setbacks help to ensure these wetlands, crucial for waterfowl breeding and reproduction, retain water and provide adequate habitat.

The USFWS is considering weakening the drainage setbacks which will result in water loss in the Duck Factory negatively affecting waterfowl reproduction.

We have to speak up now. We have to be heard. We have to protect the Duck Factory and the waterfowl that we love!!
