Turning trash into treasure ♻️✨

In my craft room , I give new life to items headed for the landfill. With the help of my sewing machine and lots of glue I transform fabric scraps into one-of-a-kind art pieces with a story to tell. Sustainable, creative, and made with purpose.

I’ve finally perfected the upcycled beetle pattern and I will be creating more to bring to markets. I also finished my first Kinusaiga project and then went after it with glue and glitter (typical)! ❤️❤️❤️

This week in the craft room✨

I’m focusing on a few goals:
• Making small rope bowls: perfect little pieces that bring both beauty and function into everyday spaces, great for holding jewelry. (2 finished, photos 3 & 4) 💍💎

• Sewing jar grippers: I purchased two new fabrics from Mangelsons, perfect kitchen fabric (photo 5)🍅🫜🥬

• Creating large journal covers: designed to be reusable. Fits standard composition notebooks to hold your thoughts, plans, and inspirations 📓✍️

It’s a week of steady progress, simple joy of organizing fabric, and making things by hand. Stay tuned to see how these pieces come together 💛🧵🪡

Turning scraps into something beautiful ✂️✨

Every little piece of fabric has a story—and it deserves more than a trip to the landfill. From patchwork projects to tiny details, sewing with scraps is my way of creating sustainably and wasting less. 🌿

It’s not about perfection—it’s about intention. One stitch at a time, we can make a difference. 💚

I finished the silliest little project today and I love how it turned out 🐟✨

I sewed a sardine pillow completely out of scrap fabric. I pieced together a bunch of small leftover bits for the body, which made it look extra patchwork-y and fun. Instead of regular stuffing, I filled it with tiny fabric scraps from my sewing bin, so it’s basically a zero-waste project.

After turning it right side out, I hand sewed the opening closed at the end, which felt like the perfect finishing touch. It’s a little lumpy, a little wonky, and very much a “made from what I had” kind of project — but that’s exactly why I love it.

Scrap fabric projects are honestly the best. Cute, sustainable, and a great way to clean out the scrap pile. 🧵💙
