The occupational hazards of a textile artist: finding stray threads in literally every square inch of your life.

But honestly? I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Every single one of those wandering threads represents hours spent sourcing vintage linens, rescuing discarded denim, and cutting down fabric remnants to turn them into something beautiful.

That little piece of thread on my car seat is just proof of the love, time, and late nights that go into creating handmade, one-of-a-kind wearable art for Salvaged and Seamed. It’s messy, it’s chaotic, and it is entirely worth it to keep gorgeous textiles out of the landfill and in your wardrobes.

We’ve all got that one thing that gives our job away.

Three decades in a closet, just waiting for the perfect breeze

This upcycled boxy tee started its life as a much loved dress in the 1970s. When the top wore out, a dear friend saved the gorgeous Liberty of London fabric for decades until it finally found its way to my sewing machine.

Now, it's a one-of-a-kind piece meant to be loved all over again.

From repurposed textiles to forever homes...

What an absolute whirlwind of a weekend at the Made in Kawartha Lakes sale! My heart is incredibly full looking back at all the one-of-a-kind wearable art pieces that found their new homes.

To everyone who stopped by the Victoria Park Armouries to chat about textiles, the circular economy, or just to admire the creative & durable craftsmanship of these pieces - thank you.

Supporting slow fashion means choosing items that are built for longevity, and seeing this community embrace upcycled fashion means the world to me.

Because everything at Salvaged and Seamed is uniquely repurposed from vintage linens, blankets, and remnants, once a piece sells, it’s truly gone!

One of the best parts of working with vintage textiles is the absolute magic of the "before and after."

When I found this 'Herb Garden' tea towel, I knew it couldn't just sit in a drawer. It had so much character, it deserved to be out in the world! Paired with a classic vintage tablecloth, it found its new life as a sturdy, completely one-of-a-kind tote bag.

The ultimate plot twist? This beauty has already found its forever home before I could even hit post!

Because every Salvaged and Seamed piece is handcrafted from unique, rescued remnants and vintage finds, they truly are one of one. When they’re gone, they are officially gone!
