Thank you so much to everyone who came out to enjoy the beautiful weather with us yesterday in downtown Opelika! We saw some familiar faces and met some new friends 🫶 Shout out to Caroline of The Introverted Misfit, the beautiful crew from Las Latinas Kitchen, and our new friends from Cookie’s Canine Animal Rescue!! I thoroughly enjoyed getting to visit with the adoptable pups! (Check out their website www.cookiesrescue.org )

This was my last event for the summertime! I still have inventory available for local delivery and pickups, and long distance customers can shop via Etsy! I hope to see you all again under the big purple tent some time this fall. 🩷

Thank you so much to everyone involved in making this year’s CityFest such a fun day!! Live music, great food (including the beautiful, delicious Cuban sandwich from Maria’s Cuban Sandwiches), perfect weather, and great company 🥳🫶

I met my new favorite ceramics artist and her beautiful family, who source all their clay by hand on their property and turn it into the most incredible functional sculptures. The goddess style coffee mug had to come home with me and I hope I see them again sometime soon!

It was also so cool to see my sculpture, “Bronchospasm”, on display alongside so many other incredible works of art in the Juried Art Exhibition!

I always love Kiesel Park, and I can’t wait to be back out there again on May 30th for Pridefest!!

ToraCon, You guys showed UP!! Thank you so, so much to all the incredible cosplayers, vendors, organizers, volunteers and staff that made this event run so beautifully!! it was such a blast to see everyone’s outfits and meet so many new people, as well as seeing a few familiar faces! My only regret is that I didn’t have time to take more pictures.

This was my first ever cosplay event, and I loved getting in costume and having an excuse to crochet myself a jumbo cuddly Chansey plushie! It‘s always so cool to have a venue to show off my crochet, and I could not have asked for a more supportive group than the folks who came out today! Thank you everyone 🩷🩷

This rootin tootin Cowboysaurus Rex is a rough and rowdy fella lookin for a new home to hang his hat! He stands proud at 10” tall and he’s the dandiest cowpoke this side of the Mississippi. He’s available for adoption and will be ready to meet some new folks at our market events this month!

“Bronchospasm”
Mixed media crochet sculpture

This is one of the most vulnerable, personal, and emotionally difficult art projects I’ve ever worked on. On Friday, April 3 I had an asthma attack that landed me in the hospital. My rescue inhaler wasn’t working and I actually lost consciousness for around 15 minutes. I was very fortunate that my fiancé found me in time to call the ambulance, and the EMTs gave me a nebulizer treatment on the way to the hospital where I had to be admitted overnight. I’ve struggled with asthma for years, but I have never had an attack as severe as this one, and it was honestly one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. In the aftermath of the attack, I was inspired to make this piece as a visual representation of what I felt before I lost consciousness. The hands of the sweater are tied behind its back, the airway constricts and ties all the way around the neck. The lungs are grey and turning necrotic, the muddy green color of the background represents the feeling of hopelessness and decay that came along with suffocating on my own lungs.

Since leaving the hospital, my doctor has adjusted my treatment plan and I have been feeling much better! Hopefully I won’t have an experience like that again, but I’m positive I won’t forget that feeling.
