Why are alterations expensive? Pictures below of a shirt I am working on. This shirt's sleeves are 3.5 inches longer and need to be shortened. I had to unpick each piece from cuffs and plackets, removing buttons and buttonholes, and then sew it back precisely as it was before, allowing no room for errors. Laying down flat new fabric and sewing from scratch is significantly easier than reworking an already sewn piece to make it look exactly the same. That's why alterations need to be priced accordingly.

Bow bustles on wedding dresses tend to be on the pricier side; however, they are my absolute favorite to work on. I've only had one such project so far, but the experience was incredibly rewarding, and I wish more brides would consider this elegant option.
