Nothing *almost* is too far gone!
These vintage mushroom chairs were worth restoring!

-Was it a challenge? Yeah.

-Were they saved from the landfill? Yeah.

-Did they turn out super rad? Yeah.

-Were they meant to be slipcovered in stretchy spandex? Yeah.

-Did I have to sculpt and hand stitch them together so they could be reimagined in a modern olive boucle? Yeah.

-Do I have regrets? Nope.

You guys. My client MADE these frames. By HAND. With WOOD. From TREES.

I have cool clients.

This much attention to detail called for detailed upholstery. If you look closely, you’ll see that the bottom cushions aren’t truly square, but follow the angle of the back of the frame to remove any gap that would traditionally remain from a boxed cushion.

100% human made chairs. One of a kind (or rather two..it’s a set 😏)

Faux leather should be illegal. These chairs are only a couple years old, and they were already delaminating and the deck was shot. My client is in the minority by choosing reupholstery. Most of these chairs end up in the landfill within a few short years of purchase 💔

They got brand new jute webbing that will LAST, went from a tufted seat to a solid seat with buttonless tufted back, covered in a lovely linen look stripe.

They are now ready to stay in use!!
