If you would’ve told me a few years ago that I’d be out in the middle of Marfa, TX on hunting adventures with my husband… I would’ve told you to kiss my 🍑 🤣🤭

But here we are — and I’m obsessed.
This hunt was next-level FUN. Like… adrenaline-junkie-heart-FULL kind of fun. I had no idea I’d love the stalk and the chase this much, and I definitely didn’t know I’d be a pretty decent shot too. 👀🔥 My husband officially opened a can of worms introducing me to this world — and I’m not going back. This hobby is here to stay.

Huge thank you to our guides Charlie .reina.77 , Jason and Leslie with . Their knowledge, hospitality, and overall badassery made every moment unforgettable. Couldn’t have done any of this without them.

And the wildest part? If you’d told younger Amber that she’d be in Texas making memories like this with two old high-school friends she lost touch with 25+ years ago… she never would’ve believed it. Life is funny. You never know what tomorrow brings. 🤍

All I know is this: I’m having the time of my life, I’m hooked, and the best part is getting to share every adventure with my favorite person in the world — my amazing husband. 🫶✨

There is so much to say about my first hunting trip! I think I thought since I have always been around people that hunt that I understood it but I was so wrong.

So my girlie side did not want to hunt something that I considered “cute” and don’t ask me why I thought antelope fit that mold but I did. My husband took me to Bass Pro months ago and got me what I like to call the “get my wife into hunting starter kit”🤣. I got all the things. The pants the jackets the base layers etc. but what I learned the hard way is that my hiking boots did not cut it for hunting, so I will be buying new 🥾. I learned that my backpack kills my shoulders so that as well will be replaced along with the sling I have for my 🔫. If yall have any recommendations for a smaller framed female let me know!

Day 1 wake up at 4:30am and out the door by 5:15-5:30am (we did that for 3 days). We packed out all the essentials we needed for the entire day which ended at 8:00pm. We were pretty hard at it. Mentally on day 1 I said f this. We walked about 8 miles that day and even crawled with our 🔫 to try and stalk a herd we found and somehow they just disappeared on us. That was the day they were no long antelope they were now called C you next tuesdays…iykyk 🤣

Day 2 right back at it and on this day my nerves calmed but omg I was so sore but there is no bitching in hunting!! I was fully invested by this time and even had one in my scope but the c would not stop moving and then crossed the property fence.

Day 3 I was really invested and a friend of mine told me just to get mad at it and get one and it will be over. So thats what I did. I was so ready and thought today is the day and of course this storm from hell rolls in and just like that its over.

The take away, hunters put food on the table (food that is better than anything thing you will buy in a store) the physical and mental strength is on another level and the pure joy of going back to talk about all the details of the hunt/stalking of the animal is so much fun. Will I do this again…YES!!

Females have been programmed from a very young age to be in competition with each other. Who is prettier who is skinnier who is more successful who has their s**t together more. That distraction was created so that our true powerful female gifts would not be used.

The universe places people in your life exactly when you need them or when you are ready for them. No I have not created a man hating witch club 🤣🧙 but I have been beyond blessed in the last year or two with some incredible women. Women who have walked beside me during the dark times, women that have shared their dark times with me and women who remind me that positivity and love can be shown to all types.

When women of that magnitude join with no judgement as a sisterhood and not enemies we heal something so deep within ourselves that it reveals just how powerful we have become but even better it allows us to share that same path to others.

Basically what I’m saying is I have some badass ladies in my life and yall know exactly who you are! 🥰

Do you ever ask yourself…who am I? Do you know what you truly like or dislike? How do you know we aren’t all just a bunch of sheep that follow the masses?

This has been something I have asked myself over and over through out my own life and my findings are much simpler than I once believed. My findings are it doesn’t fu***ng matter. If one day you are dressing like a basic white bitch with your trendy outfit that everyone has and the next day you’re dressed for a hippie fest ☮️and the next your dressed like you just came out of a scene from Wild Hogs 💀….who the f**k cares!!!! Not that this is all about your clothes but you get what I’m saying.

Being completely fluid in life is key. We morph and grow into all sorts of things, some good, some not so good but we are never stuck! We all have the capability to change and live in a way that fits us at that time.

Who I was in my teens, 20’s and 30’s is not who I am today at 44 yrs old. I have no shame or guilt of who or what I once was because that is exactly who I needed to be at that time.

Today I value my time spent alone, my time spent with great friends, my time with my husband, my time in nature and my time exploring even more of myself.

Stop hating especially towards yourself! You’re doing amazing even if you’re failing!
