Well shoot yall. I did it again. This time I broke my ankle. I am going to push back any kind of update with new things for another 2 weeks or so. But since I’m gonna be doing a lot of sitting I will tie up and dye a bunch of new things too! Making the most of down time so I can have the best up times!

Firstly… thank you to every last one of you who commented, liked, and loved these posts. Clark is absolutely back to his normal frisky self today, which I am both overjoyed and terrified about.
No one tells you about how you, the owner, will feel after your pet has a near death experience. I keep replaying those moments where I’m watching his life slip out of his body. And the helplessness you feel when you don’t know how exactly to keep him safe and healthy for the rest of his life.
We somehow lucked out and were able to get an appointment yesterday with a vet allergist and they are doing a blood panel to hopefully determine what might have triggered this. But the fact is that we might also never know.
I do not do well in situations where I am not certain of the outcome, I don’t like surprises, and I’m not a fan of the unknown. And with something like this all you’re dealing with is uncertainty.
I am going to attempt to lean into distractions and as you might have noticed I’ve been doing very little dyeing work so far this year. To be honest I’ve really thought about letting Sleeping on Rainbows go. I’ve been struggling with burnout and imposter syndrome for quite a while but I think the distraction from my current situation will do me a world of good. So expect to see some new creations from me real soon! But in the meantime don’t forget I’m running a 45% off EVERYTHING sale on my website til Friday!

Hi Folks!! Just popping in to let you know Clark is doing well and making improvements! He’s still not out of the woods yet.
As a dog owner of 25 years we’ve seen our fair share of pet emergencies. But this was one that I honestly knew very little about and I want to take a minute to let you all know what happened and how you could recognize the signs of severe anaphylactic shock in your dog.
Severe Anaphylactic shock in dogs affects their GI system. Mild cases may present with hives and itching and swelling but severe cases affect the bodies internal organs. Within 5-30 minutes of exposure to the allergen the dog will start showing signs of GI distress. Repeated vomiting will start, drooling, and diarrhea. Shortly after limbs will become cold and dog will collapse. Gums will become extremely pale and heart rate and respiration will increase. You then have about 30 minutes to get your dog to an ER hospital for epinephrine treatment and systemic treatment for shock to prevent organ shut down. Dogs will show a telltale halo around their gallbladder as a key sign for severe anaphylactic shock. This is a true life threatening emergency that needs immediate care.

I never considered this when it all happened but my gut told me something was very very wrong.

We are VERY lucky that we got to an ER so quick and also lucky that the team there recognized this and began working on him the moment we got in the door.

Tomorrow Clark goes to a dog allergist for blood testing to hopefully find out what might have caused this (fingers crossed we find out) and to get emergency epinephrine that we can use if it happens again.

We love our lil fur kiddos so much and they do so much to show us they love us too, so I wanted to describe what we went through in hopes that it might save another doggo from getting very ill or even dying 😭.

As you can imagine this is a very expensive ordeal and I’m continuing to run my 45% off EVERYTHING sale on my website through Friday to help us cover the expenses of Clark’s ongoing care. Thank you times a THOUSAND to everyone who picked up an item yesterday!!! 💕💕💕💕💕🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈

Hey Folks! Well this last 24 hours has been a scary rollercoaster…. We had to rush Clark to the Pet ER yesterday after one of our regular weekend hikes. It all started out fine, until the end. He started vomiting and then collapsed and couldn’t walk. His gums were white and he was so lethargic. Vet immediately recognized the signs of anaphylactic shock and they administered a very invasive treatment to save him. The greatest news of all is that he is HOME and resting and seems to be out of the woods. But you’d never imagine a perfectly healthy 4 year old dog would get so so sick so fast.
Im running a 45% off 🏷️ $ a L E through Friday! Everything in the shop is automatically discounted in your cart at check out!
