What I like to do is sit in the middle of my room and find the fabrics I'd like to use that match what I have envisioned then follow the outlines of what I have in my mind. Sewing is so relaxing and tells a story with all that I want to say from bring the intangible into reality.

"Every rose has its story" Textile Art Original came to mind this morning when I read this passage on social media.

It was basically saying the highest honor you can give yourself is being authentic to yourself. Totally makes sense. Since no matter who you're around all day long, you're still with yourself the most. So it's a good idea to know who she is and be content with her🩷

I love how we all have a story that lead us to this moment right now. Each rose is different, yet a rose is a rose 😊 That was my inspiration for this original.

Here she is, "Winds of Change" Textile Sculpture Original 🩷

You know how yesterday I shared when I was in progress of her in 2019? So I thought some of you might be curious how she turned out. She's a sculpture I finished in fabrics and a bit of fabric paint.

Now in introspect, I bet she was a prelude to my Mother Nature series I have now. In inspiration, if those windy days that come along and move things around, I was thinking she would be a woman. Bringing new beginnings all around.

Look at the trees along the bottom. Each bunch of leaves are made from fabrics. They just feel alive when you see them in person.

Well, she sits in my studio with me. Maybe one day I'll show her publicly again to find her forever home. In the meantime I'll just enjoy how change isn't always a bad thing, it's just a part of living a beautiful life🩷

I was reminded what I was doing at this exact time June 11th 2019 from archive photos. I was making art🩷

In my world back then, my Mom passed just last month, everything was turned upside down and I up and decided to cut my hair .... completely bald. So this image is where it started growing back😊

Sometimes you don't even realize how much bravery comes out in ways you didn't plan. Especially to create what comes to you freely. Something the world hasn't seen yet.

Not sure how people will appreciate or if they will at all. Or even if it will make the light of day. Just knowing there is a message that needs to come out.

I just remember back then I was so proud of creating this art, "Winds of Change." First and only of its kind and helped me through a rough patch in life and sparked more sculpture art in fabrics in a different way. Life sure is a world of possibilities isn't it? It's amazing how art will show you that part 🩷

When I went out to nature in Kerrville for a while, I do believe she talked to me for a minute 🩷 Telling me to slow it down, look around and be present. There is so much beauty all around us. It feels like a world of possibilities.

I'm always going to look to nature for the answers, especially since when we're at peace we can actually hear them 🩷

I'm all kinds of excited for what's next! This place rocks! As a caretaker, artist, entrepreneur, sister and a bunch of other roles, so much can go on in just a day🩷 It's a good thing to take some time to recharge!

She's finished!🩷

It feels like such an achievement, considering she's a textile original piece that took several weeks to complete. Thanks a bunch to those of you who came along for the journey as she was in progress🩷

I named her "Keep your head to the sky."

It's amazing how art has a unique way to transport you into its world, feeling emotions and sensations.

When I gaze at her, I'm reminded of lying in the grass, gazing up at the sky through the trees, watching birds drift by.

My inspiration came from nature's song. Sure does reveal itself when you're present and open-hearted. She embodies serenity.
