This is my first truly finished canvas. My medium is normally clothing. I also feel like this is my first truly vulnerable piece. Whoever purchases this work will also receive a hand-written or typewritten (haven’t decided yet) letter with more intimate details regarding inspiration & theme. This is my first time working with oils. The day I began this piece was the same day I learned about my grandmother who passed away few years before I was born. My nana Margaret was a known oil painter in the Northeastern Pennsylvania coal mine region, where I also grew up. Her work hangs in Penn State Hazelton in the library. I think she’d be proud of me.
