Jacqueline Myles is a self-taught fashion designer. Her interest in fashion began when she was 8 years old. She developed a passion for both Paper and Barbie dolls. She taught herself how to create the styles that she saw in the streets and in magazines, on paper dolls. This eventually led to her using the same ideas to create clothing for her Barbie dolls. By age 11 she was renting books on desig
ners such as Dior and Valentino, and pattern making, from the local library. By age 13, she was taking a single pair of pants and making them into 2-piece outfits. At age 14, she was making tailored pants (a huge trend in the hood) for clients and friends, building a reputation among her peers as a prospective designer. Her first showcase was at age 20, as the youngest of six of Philadelphia's finest upcoming designers and tailors. Over the years she has enhanced her craft working as a freelance designer/seamstress. She is a graduate of the Art Institute of Philadelphia's fashion design program. She has also studied fashion design at both Drexel University and Howard University. She developed her first line of clothing in 2005, giving it the name "Todd Anthony", to honor her first born child. The line was first shown in 2006 at the Philadelphia Fashion Expo, garnering much attention from the organizers and attendees, resulting in the line being requested to be shown at many events over the tri-state area. In 2008, she won 2nd place in John Blassingame's 22nd annual international designer of the year competition. In 2009, garments from her Todd Anthony line were used in a Hype Hair style shoot featuring actor Tobias Truvillion (One life to live). Later that year she was featured in both the spring and fall shows during New York's Fashion Week. In 2010, she was one of several designers showcasing their lines at Philly Fashion Week. Most recently she was awarded New Day Associates 2011 International Designer of the Year. Garments from her Spring/Summer ready-to-wear collection can be seen in the June 2012 issue of Hype Hair Magazine in a Wal-Mart Sponsored Advertisement and in the August /September issue of Today's Black Woman Style Report, which showcases and demonstrates how to wear 3 of the looks from that collection. Her design aesthetic is both edgy and classic. The men and woman who wear "Todd Anthony" are confident and stylish, and like being noticed. Recently Jacqueline featured her newest collection in Philadelphia Fashion week Sept 2012
