MorningRain Honani and Summer Olney (Fancy Shawl) are respected champion sisters who dance with a deep sense of healing, prayer, and cultural identity. For them, dancing holds both the beauty of style and footwork and the teachings they were raised with.

Their movement reflects intention, grace rooted in wellness, connection, and the prayers carried through these dances for generations. They hope the next generation of dancers continue to grow in their own style while remembering the roots behind it, these dances carry prayers, our stories, our people, and the healing that comes with moving in a good way. 🪶

Silas Whitebuffalo (Men’s Fancy) is a champion dancer known and respected across Indian Country. He grew up watching his dad and older relatives in the arena, learning the way many of us do, through family, observation, and generational teaching.

These dances are living proof of that lineage. Every style and movement exists because someone before us took the time to show, guide, and inspire.

For Silas, those early influences are a big part of his story. He’s carried those teachings forward while also building his own path, style, and perspective, showing how tradition and personal growth move together across generations. 🪶

Lara Lasley (Fancy Shawl) and Marshall Baker (Men’s Grass) both dance from a place of self-expression, carrying forward the traditions passed down to them while adding their own voice and style to it. For them, dance is a way to feel free, grounded, and connected, a space where emotion and culture move together as one.
“I feel like dancing is an outlet for your true self to come out…That’s something I wish to see the younger generation continue to do, innovate, be creative, and just be themselves.” – Marshall Baker
Their stories remind us that tradition and expression are never separate, both live in every step, every turn, and every moment of movement. 🪶

We’re holding a casting call for a short film we’ll be directing, producing, and writing. If you or someone you know fits the roles and would love to be part of this project, please reach out to us via email!

This film marks a new chapter in our creative journey as a brand/business, we’re just beginning to scratch the surface of what’s possible of what we can do Indigenous storytellers through creative arts. As always, this work is a love letter to our communities, to our families, and to our relatives across all nations. 🤎🪶

In our communities, sometimes the greatest hope is simply the chance to grow old together—to see our youth become elders. That’s the real American Dream: continuing to live, thrive, and hold power in who we are, no matter what community or culture we represent in today’s world.

Our culture and communities are on mood boards everywhere in creative spaces—from all relations.
What makes these projects even more special is that our mood boards are real life: our experiences, our family stories, our homies, and our connections across the globe.
It’s always a beautiful time to look like us.

‘Love Us Like You Love Our Culture’ tee available Friday @ 12PM PST., on homelandforever.com
