I’ve been wanting to make my way to the Angel Oak Tree for years…

I finally took the time to sit beneath its branches which reaches as high as 65’ (feet) and simply marveled at its beauty.

This living symbol of resilience located on John’s Island, SC is estimated to be 400-500 years old. This particular tree, believed to actually be 2 trees which grew together and the trunk is 31.5’ (feet) in diameter has lived through slavery and plantation era.

They said that this tree was once used as a community meeting point during segregation of the surrounding black community.

Southern Live Oak trees can potentially live 900-1000 years, so hopefully with continued preservation, the Angel Oak will live another 400 years and hold to the may centuries of stories it embodies.

We are coming together to raise financial support for Abundance Educational Institute (AEI) in Yazoo City, Mississippi while doing what they love. Riding our motorcycles.

Abundance Educational Institute is a Christian academy that strives to make students’ education as affordable as possible, servicing grades K-12. The founder of AEI, Leora Cox Hooper, Ed.S, has years of education experience in both general and special education and is dedicated to informing, educating and equipping men, women and children with the necessary tools to be successful.

Kim “Jamaica” Henry Kim Henry (HH #1162), Danielle “PopOff” Stansell PopOff B Hawgin (HH #1179) and Dolly “Jus’Tis” Johnson (HH #1325) Dolly A Johnson Jus’Tis Will all be participating in the 2026 Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge departing from Woodstock, Illinois on August 2nd, 2026. This long distance endurance challenge allows their participants to select a non-profit organization to raise money, while bringing awareness to their cause!
