In May 2022 I got the keys to this. I took over the lease and bought most of the contents here via a contract written on a paper bag between two women. She was kind enough to let me pay her in installments over that first year otherwise I might not have been able to do any of this.
I spent 4 months, with a lot of help from my friends, cleaning & organizing this and preparing Jackie Whoa Vintage.
I opened for business in the fall, and I literally remember feeling ASHAMED of how some parts of the store looked. They weren’t perfect and didn’t fit my long term vision. So stupid to be ashamed - I see now. Now I look back and I’m just so proud of myself.
The store still isn’t how I want it, 4 years later. But it’s a lot closer to my dream and getting closer every day.
