It’s been a full to the brim last couple of days. Backyard garden is buzzing and Summer workshops closing out with some beautiful locations, big groups, and some lovely people. Flower Pounding, fresh picked bouquets, fresh indigo, and Maxo Vanka murals. Thanks to everyone who joined in and helped make it all happen. Still lots of late summer blooms to collect, press and/or store away for the winter. I’m ready to make a mess in my studio working on some new work this week and to spend some more time in the woods with my pup and my people. ✨ Some Fall workshops will be posted soon-ish!

I’ll be leading a workshop at Bedner's Farm and Greenhouse on Friday, August 28th, 6-8 pm. Join us to pick your own bouquets from their gorgeous gardens and learn to make your own flower printed pennant wall hanging! I am looking forward to spending an evening outside during golden hour in the gardens with some of you! You’ll go home with a beautiful bouquet + a flower printed pennant that captures the end of summer garden. 🍃🌸🍃

Thanks to everyone who has taken a workshop or booked a private workshop event with me this summer! Bundle Dyeing, Dye garden starter, Cyanotype, Fresh Indigo, Flower Pounding, Clay Paste Resist + Indigo, Naturally Dyed Basket Weaving… it has been so much fun! I have taught 7 workshops just in the past two weeks and it was so cool to have so many returning participants and familiar faces. I am so grateful for each of you and feel honored when you return for more! I learn so much through teaching and really love it. However, I am definitely ready to have a couple of weeks to keep up with my garden tasks and to have some time to work on some new work! I’m feeling grateful and also a little tired, so I’m going to recharge by making a mess in my studio and working through some new ideas I have. ✨

I wish I had closeups in the daylight of all of the beautiful naturally dyed basket totes made in this workshop! So many beautiful ones, all with unique color palettes and woven shapes + a cool group of dyers and weavers. I love the summer dyeing workshops when we can incorporate fresh indigo!

Botanically Bundle Dyed Trail Blaze with flower dyed cotton. Today on my walk I saw baby goslings, fresh tree buds, a couple of hawks and so, so much green. On yesterday’s walk, I saw a couple of turtles sunnjng themselves, some groundhogs, and lots of chatty red-winged blackbirds. I love this time of year.
