Meet the People Behind Alex And Andy

If you’re new here (or you’ve been around for a while), I thought it was time to properly introduce ourselves.

Hi! I’m Sophie…the owner of Alex And Andy, the one behind the camera, packing your orders, answering your messages, running the website, creating content, and wearing about 100 other hats. I’m also a wife and a mom to a sweet toddler, so life around here is usually a little chaotic… but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Then there’s Uncle Andy—my uncle, my best friend, and the heart behind every design you see. The man, the myth, the legend!

Alex, the sweep pup in the photo, was Uncle Andy’s dog who my husband and I fostered when Uncle Andy was recovery from his stroke in the hospital and in stroke rehab. Unfortunately, Alex passed away shortly before Uncle Andy moved home from rehab.

In 2020, Andy suffered a life changing hemorrhagic stroke that left him unable to use his dominant hand and struggling to communicate. Watching someone so incredible lose so much was heartbreaking. But instead of letting his story end there, he taught himself to draw all over again with his left hand and fight for his life back.

That’s where Alex And Andy began.

What started as a way to give Andy purpose, confidence, and a creative outlet has grown into something we never imagined. Every design is hand drawn by Andy, every order supports our small business, and every package represents a second chance.

Our mission has always been bigger than selling shirts.

We want to spread kindness, remind people they’re not alone, and prove that life’s hardest moments don’t have to define your future.
