🚨***Long Post Alert***🚨
Raising a Black, Teenage, 🤓, Witty & Funny, Kind (when he wants to be), Athletic(when he feels like it), Open-minded, Thoughtful (the list could go on) ...Young Man is not easy!!! Lord knows if the walls in our house could talk you would hear some things! 😅😬. Shannon & I had Isaiah so young... we made the mistake of not having certain conversations... like “ how do we want to raise our son” 🤔 💭 ....we had, nor Have not One plan 🤷🏾‍♀️😄, a guide, a map....just out here winging it on some prayers! 🙏🏾🤦🏾‍♀️ To be honest it does cause friction because while we both obviously want what’s best for this young man...we have our own ideas and ways we want to go about it. One of us wants to use a little more finesse while the other wants to use a little more force 😂. It’s all good though because as it turns out...it’s quite possible our son needs both. He needs the best each of us has to offer.

As a privileged teenager...he is far from perfect...but we have such high expectations for him that we easily get disappointed when he’s just being typical. Like if he brings home an “A-” I literally will tell him to write down 3ways he’s gonna bring that grade up cause it’s too close to a “B”🤣🤦🏾‍♀️. Dad be ready to exile the child to his room forever and take his phone for good cause he forgot to take the trash out for the millionth time. Like our issues with him aren’t even major...and that lets me know how much of a good kid he is...now He’s a teenager & has gotten caught up in du***ss teenage stuff as well...but it doesn’t change who is inherently is.
✅We’re doing a decent job as parents. 😎

This world won’t be as forgiving & understanding to our teenage son as we are, simply because of how he looks...but I have learned during these early teenage years to not let that fear (or any others) be what guides us in parenting him.
Love has to be at the root of everything...otherwise that’s when ish gets crazy 😜!
(I’m not debating this...these are My thoughts & opinions based on My experience 😁)

Yesterday it was Shannon’s birthdaaay (Happy 21st 🤦🏾‍♀️) & my officially finished middle school 👨🏾‍🎓!
Kudos to the all-time pro-Dad for being selfLess & consistently all about the kids....
Cause his birthday definitely got on the back burner to celebrate Isaiah and his high achieving middle school career(& now we do it all over today for K-Shae!)😊
I just can’t get over how quickly these days come.... in another few short years...on most likely Shannon’s b-day again, lol...we’ll be celebrating High School & another Middle School graduation 🎓 😩!

Yooo! I could live at the ocean🌊 ...in the sunshine ☀️ ....on the sand! 🏖
It’s June & the skies are cloudy and we still haven’t gone past 73degrees here in “sunny” California 😩. I just want a LEGIT...HOT beach day. 😁..and I’ll say this until I get one and start complaining about having to take all 14(that’s what it feels like) of the kids! 😂

I will continue to enjoy the ocean’s beauty no matter what! ☺️
