The Surprise Pedal does make for some fun Shreddy tones as well. Both for chunky rhythm and soaring leads with a good sear on it.

Had to bust out the Ibanez RG and the Tank to rip on it a bit.

Surprise 2026 Limited Edition.

The two modes let you go between a more vintage warm saturation or a punchier louder version of this quite musical distortion box.

If you’re new to the surprise it uses 2x op amps to create a classic distortion sound and the topology has very little in common with what it appears to be (hence the surprise)

Surprise Pedal is back for 2026 as a limited drop!

Handful of Hammered Purple/Green Editions up for grabs and more can be made if people want these.

The Surprise was a model using cascading op amp stages in a topology derived from the Marshall Shredmaster just with simplified controls (that’s the surprise)

The new colorway is super eye catching and it has quite a bit of chunk and sizzle to the tone as well.

Machina II is a very capable device.

Years after release myself and others are constantly finding new tones and textures because all the k***s are so interactive. From screeching highs and sub sonic burbles to tight velcro 8 bit and chunky distortion, this box has some range.

𝙱𝚕𝚊𝚌𝚔 𝙲𝚑𝚟𝚛𝚌𝚑 put on an absolutely face melting set 8/29 at the Wyrd Hut. This band takes everything you love about authentic hardcore and integrates electronic elements, brutal breakdowns, energetic slam breakdowns and more.

On a personal note having known Xan for many years now and getting to connect with Trey, Sebastian, Joe and Duncan before the show was a real highlight. Don’t miss a show from this band they are all experienced players with deep roots in heavy music and local scene.

Shroot II.

Channeling some hard rock riffs with the Doomcaster today, I love the Marshall stack style tones it gets with the gain k**b cranked. It’s very dynamic and responsive but also heavy too.

The Doomiest Fuzz Imp Pedals:

Probably would be Bongfire and Adventure. Both sound massive on low and slow leads and riffs and can churn out massive power chord tones for days.

Blending them gave a depth I was really digging here and they both are staples for making a huge sounding heavy tone.

Dialed in an actual Deftone (toan) to play along with my favorite Andrew Baena cover probably. What’s interesting about so many deftones tracks is the songs themselves and the production really glue together what are simple riffs on the surface but are tricky to play super well.

NPD. EarthQuaker Devices ZEQD-Pre. All tones in the demo are using the XLR out with the stock cab sim. This tone rivals even my mics and my SD XLR out certainly.

F standard baritone into Furia
This Heavy Earth Amps/Effects Oathless (always)

I know this rig is similar (although this bari configuration is new) because I’ve been chasing the most crushing distortion sound possible and this stack does it.

Got the Zeqd in last night. Still plan on using it in demos soon and for my rig. It’s pretty cool! Basically a tube eq/preamp with some DI and headphone options.

The easy listening I’ve been using for quite some time and use it often so this just made sense.
