Pattern Sale in support of the Army 2-104th Family Readiness Group!

I am so very proud of my son and all of his fellow soldiers for the work and sacrifices they make for us. I am having a pattern sale to help support the the Army 2-104th Family Readiness Group that helps soldiers and their families. Hopefully this helps in the effort to assure there is not a time when they cannot help a family or for planned activities.

Whether you support the Military or are against it, these humans sacrifice being away from their families, missing milestones, and the joys of family life. These soldiers are not paid nearly enough for the work they do. But, more importantly are the families that have to live life never knowing when their solider will be called away for weeks or even months. Their support is so needed for the moral of a solider.

Military Family Readiness Program’s such as the 2-104th Family Readiness Group are helping to build strong military families to bridge the gap between units and families. They offer much needed support to families of Service Members during soldiers’ deployments as well as family get togethers throughout the year to bring soldiers and families together. However, the Military (Government) does not fund these Support Groups. They are purely funded by donations and support of the community. Every little bit we can do to help goes a long way to assure the bonds between families and soldiers stays strong.

Our Battalion in the Army, more specifically Pennsylvania Army National Guard is holding a picnic for the soldiers and families on September 15th. We unfortunately had our food sponsor drop off from helping last minute and now it's up to me to find some quick sponsors to assist with picking up the cost for us to provide the food ourselves at the picnic. We plan to purchase food to grill at Sam's Club and for the 400 people we are projecting needing at least $1500 for the food, drinks, desserts, etc. Donations will ensure there is no cost to the soldiers for this meal.

Any kind of help is appreciated and if you may know of persons or organizations who may be able to help, please have them reach out to me. I've also attached the official letter he is using to request donations from local businesses. Thank you!

I can hardly believe it’s been a year since I released the Tiffin Lunch Totes pattern. It’s been a well-loved pattern for those that want a sustainable way to tote a lunch, whether for an adult or a child. My favorite part other than the 2 separate compartments is the buckled handle that can be detached quickly to hang on a tote or backpack.

It’s back to school time and there is plenty of time to create your very own sustainable Lunch Tote to fit your child’s personality (or even yours) and haven’t gotten the Tiffin Lunch Tote pattern yet, you can check it out here!

The Tiffin Lunch Totes were designed for convenience and sustainability. Different foods can be separated in the top and bottom compartments, making it perfect for separating hot items from cold. Designing and publishing 73 bag patterns I have drawn a LOT of pattern pieces in Illustrator. I think I can say I finally have drawn my favorite ones.

I love the shapes and what it is going to create for #74! I think my will have fun with this one.
