your experience at Belle Thalia. The Belle Thalia Creative Arts Space welcomes artists for either
quiet reflection or enthusiastic creative spark flying collaboration ( or both ) as needed . Over arching it All will be laughter as we are named after the muse of joyous humor . What you should know-------
Housing is in traditional Yurts - inspired by at rip to Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia
Traditional fabric / Fiber art for comfort ( rugs , seating cushions ) in each yurt
Wood Heat
Compostable Toilets
Communal Shower House
Community Library, simple Kitchen and work space
Miles of hiking trails for skiing , snow shoeing

ARRIVAL: Bemidji , Minnesota airport, A driver or a coordinator of the program will meet artists at the airport and take them to Belle Thalia if needed . By car
20 min.drive north on Hwy. 2 west then 14.75 miles north on Highway 89 from the Bemidji airport to Belle Thalia
SELECTION AND ACCEPTANCE REQUIREMENTS
We look forward to receiving your application materials! The selection process is by peer review based on the specific applications and field. All applicants will be notified by email within 4-6 weeks of the deadline. Acceptance of a residency requires respect of and adherence to the covenants of the residential community wherein Belle Thalia is located. Number of artists resident at one time

Grants available on occasion
We do not provide artists with stipends, but aid is occasionally available to cover housing . We cover artists’ partial expenses in case of having granting from private sponsors or international institutions. We also provide the selected artists with the letters of support/official letters of invitation to apply for funding to their own art institutions and international foundations as well. Expenses paid by artist
