ONLY 48 tickets remain for this REALLY , REALLY excellent show ( Saturday , September 5th at 7:00 PM ) about MN legend The Rootbeer Lady ! ~~~ Dorothy Molter was an amazingly strong backwoods woman living on an island in the not at that time Boundary Waters Canoe Area - people petioned that she be allowed to stay at her cabins when it became the Wilderness designated BWWCA until she passed . I was so fortunate to visit her cabins recreated with all of her personal items that have been set up as a really wonderful museum today which made me even more jazzed to see the show once again . The show would put you back $50-$100 in the Cities but it is $20. at our Wild Rose Theater . YOU DO NOT want to miss this one ! Reserve your tikets right now or you shall be disappointed when you hear the post show BUZZZZZ ! Venmo link below and tickets will be waiting for you at the purple tent .

The Mask and Rose Theater on the campus of Belle Thalia Creative Arts Space Puposky , in collaboration with Bourgoin Productions , presents , on one night only , Saturday September 5th , the one woman show “ The Root Beer Lady “. Start time is 7:00 PM .
The Root Beer Lady is a one-woman play written and performed by Kim Schultz. It tells the real-life story of Dorothy Molter, the last legal non-Indigenous resident of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness
Wilderness Life: The play tracks Molter’s life starting in 1934 as she moves to the remote North Woods, using her training as a nurse and building a solitary yet deeply fulfilling existence on Knife Lake.
The Root Beer Tradition: It highlights how she welcomed thousands of passing canoeists each year, serving them her famous homemade root beer and tending to their minor injuries.
Challenging the Narrative: The script directly pushes back against a famous 1952 Saturday Evening Post article that labeled her the "Loneliest Woman in America," showing instead her profound connection to nature, community, and fierce self-reliance.
