The Whitehouse website says “Juneteenth is a “chance” to celebrate human freedom and reflect on the grievous and ongoing legacy of slavery, and to rededicate ourselves to rooting out systemic racism that continues to plague our society…” I say… Juneteenth is a celebration of the freedom that we had all along. In a society , there will always be a dominating group that will try and suppress those unlike them. However, if you celebrate the heritage that is birthed in you , no one can ever have you enslaved! We do take June 19th as a day to celebrate us as a people! Our bond! Our assurance that we are not to be in bo***ge to anyone and particularly to ourselves!
