LOOK SHARP | The rose is a classic millinery trim but when fashioned in waxed purple leather with a sinuous lambskin stem and thorns, the rose gives off an edgy, contemporary vibe. This one is mounted on a straw headband for summer, but could be made in leather as well for trans-seasonal versatility.

GOT THE BLUES...AND VIOLETS! | This pretty lady was picked up today and is ready for her Derby adventure! This is Arielle, with custom-dyed trim in that most mercurial of colors: periwinkle...to match the client’s eyelet dress. Many (many) dye formulations were attempted in an effort to capture the elusive shade that was not too blue, not too purple... and that didn’t flatten to blue-gray as day turned to evening. Complicating matters was that the lace overlay, bias trim, straw flowers and feathers each required their own unique dye formulations. A true labor of love that was worth it in the end! 💙💜
