I’m currently eyeing my suitcase for the next trip, and the goal is always the same:great looks that make me feel great in all those vacation-photos I want to take and look back on long after the trip is over. If it doesn’t roll up into a ball and come out looking like a piece of art, it’s not going in the carry-on.

I’m currently in the thick of packing for Mexico City, and my suitcase is basically a love letter to Kozan and Matthildur. When you’ve been doing this for 10 years (our anniversary is coming up in June!), you learn that travel clothes don't have to mean boring leggings.

Independent designers like these are the ultimate travel companions because they refuse to choose between comfort and high-style. I want to feel like myself when I land: not a wrinkled version of myself. These pieces are architectural, breathable, and honest. They handle a 6-hour flight as well as they handle a gallery opening.

Packing is never perfect, and neither is travel, but at least the outfit can be interesting.
