A recurring creation pattern: first nothing, then something, then the something becomes two, and the two become many. Joseph Campbell saw this everywhere.
Any worldview that promises to erase the “two” and return us to the “one” is selling fantasy. Light and dark are baked into creation. God made the something that begat the two that became the many.
So when someone promises to eliminate half of creation — the dark half — don’t trust it.
The real work is simple and hard: foster the good, manage the dark, start with grace.
If we weaken the systems that handle the few who won’t behave, trouble doesn’t shrink — it spreads.
Civilization means nurturing the light side, managing the dark side — and today, the light side tastes like ice cream. 🍨 Serious thoughts, sweet grace. That’s the deal.
