Not only will I get to travel to Amarillo, TX next month as the coach for the Central Wyoming College Ranch Horse team but also to make a special delivery for these hats! It is an honor to be able to do both! Thank you to the National Intercollegiate Ranch & Stock Horse Association for trusting me to make hats for all the college athletes competing!

I don’t share this often enough, but Blue Hyde would not exist without my sisters.

Blue Hyde simply wouldn’t be what it is today without Bre. Her designs are what made it possible for me to start creating hats in the very beginning and what continues to help me succeed. Bre is a designer, hand-lettering artist, illustrator, and an incredible mom based in Salt Lake City, and she designed every Blue Hyde patch from day one. She started by helping me with hat designs, creating my website, designing my logo, and creating mockups and logos for customers. Because of her, I’m now able to handle my own edits and design preparation—but she’s still my go-to for fresh ideas and making sure everything looks right before it goes out into the world. Her creativity, eye for detail, and constant support have shaped this brand more than she knows.

Dani has been the quiet force behind so much of Blue Hyde. Alongside being an amazing mom, she’s an elementary art teacher in Riverton, a former dance teacher and coach, and previously ran a cookie decorating business that produced true works of art. From the very beginning, she handled the behind-the-scenes details—photographing hats, organizing social media, and helping shape the overall creative direction of the brand. More than anything, she taught me not to be afraid to try or to fail. I honestly don’t think I would have ever posted that first launch if it weren’t for her. Looking back, I’m pretty sure she was the one who hit “post.” She kept things moving and helped build the confidence behind this brand. Even now, she’s the person I still turn to when I need creative ideas, honest feedback, or a little motivation to keep going.

Without Dani and Bre, Blue Hyde wouldn’t be here. I am beyond grateful for their talent, their support, and the way they’ve always stood by me. Thank you both for helping me get started and for continuing to support me as I grow and run Blue Hyde more independently. I’m incredibly lucky to call you my sisters.

We figure it is about time for a proper introduction to our only employee, Willow. She is Blue Hydes official CFO (Chief Fur Officer).

Willow is a big part of Blue Hyde. Her many roles include HR Manager, Supervisor, Therapist, Official Photo Bomber, and
Eater of Snacks.

Due to Willow’s failure to complete a single product, she is currently on a Pup Improvement Plan. Her employment at Blue Hyde may be on thin ice but her loyalty and determination will likely allow me no choice but to keep letting her through the door.

As we step into a new year, I wanted to take a moment to share a little more about myself and how I started Blue Hyde.

My name is Jori Skaggs and in 2021, with the help of my sisters, I founded Blue Hyde in the upstairs of my parents’ home. I originally started it as a way to learn the process of building a business. Although it started small, Blue Hyde quickly grew into my full-time job and a brand I’m incredibly grateful for.

Today, I handle every part of the process myself—from designing and engraving to sewing—making sure each hat is crafted with care and quality. What began as a homegrown project is now a thriving business that creates custom orders for people and businesses all over the world.

As I reflect on previous years and plan for 2026, I’m thankful for the support that has made this journey possible and excited to continue creating pieces that reflect the values Blue Hyde was built on—quality, authenticity, and a personal touch in every stitch.
