There’s something about these mountains that feels like home. 💛

The Blue Ridge has a way of reminding me to slow down, notice the little things, and find beauty in what’s already around me.

I think that feeling finds its way into the things I make, whether it’s a piece of fabric art, a well-loved flannel turned into something new, or the colors and textures I’m drawn to.

Tellus Threads is, in many ways, my way of carrying a little piece of this place into the things we wear and live with.

Not everything has to be new to be beautiful. Sometimes the most meaningful things are the ones that already have a story.

And maybe that’s what handmade means to me. 🌿

🍂 Meet the newest one-of-a-kind creation from Tellus Threads!

This flannel duster started with well-loved flannel shirts and became something entirely new. I combined warm rust, golden yellow, cream, and sage plaids to create a long, layered piece full of texture, color, and personality.

But here’s what makes it extra special: I made the quilt square on the back myself! 🤎

I pieced and sewed that little quilt block, then incorporated it into the back of the duster. It’s where two of my favorite things, quilting and making wearable art, come together.

From reconstructing the flannels to creating the quilt square, this piece reflects what I love most about making: taking textiles that already have a story and giving them a new life.

This is slow fashion with an Appalachian spirit. Thoughtfully repurposed, handmade with intention, and impossible to duplicate exactly.

Perfect for crisp fall days, layering over your favorite basics, or adding a little one-of-a-kind character to your wardrobe.

Every piece I make teaches me something new, and I love getting to share these creations with you.

A Grateful Dead tee, reimagined. 🌈

I took this graphic tee and transformed it into a one-of-a-kind kantha tunic, adding colorful vintage kantha textiles to create the oversized flowing sleeves.

I especially love how the different fabrics come together; the hand stitching, bright colors, patterned borders, and all those little details make this piece completely unique.

The front tells one story, while the sleeves and back bring in an entirely different collection of colors and textures.

This is what I love most about making wearable art, taking pieces with their own history and giving them a new life. ❤️

There’s something special about watching a piece come together one strip at a time. 🌙⛰️

I’m working on a new Moon Over the Mountains fabric art piece, combining layers of batiks in deep blues, earthy greens, and mountain-inspired textures.

It’s still in the making, but I already love where this one is headed. There’s something about a moonlit mountain scene that just feels like home. 💙
