Little Sherry had no idea she’d someday trade schoolbooks for school board packets. She certainly didn’t know that her future self would be entrusted with helping make decisions for a public school district much like the one that was shaping her.

Back then, school was simply where I learned, discovered what I was good at, found adults who encouraged me, and began imagining a life much bigger than the one I could see from my elementary-school desk.

Decades later, I understand something little Sherry couldn’t have known: those opportunities don’t just happen. They depend upon talented educators, supportive families, strong communities—and leaders willing to listen carefully, ask hard questions, steward resources responsibly, and keep students at the center of their decisions.

That’s why I’m running to retain my seat on the RCS Board of Education.

And, yes, this is the part where little Sherry and I ask for your help. The most expensive stretch of the campaign is ahead—events, yard signs, advertisements—and bookmarks!

The campaign cannot occupy all my time. Today we are enjoying brunch at Common Grill before walking to The Purple Rose to enjoy Emma’s Weddings.
