StarkStytch

StarkStytch StarkStytch strives to produce apparel and notions that doesn't sacrifice aesthetic for durability. This means items need to be durable and mendable.

I am a self taught crafter local to Rock Hill, South Carolina. I have been crafting for nealy 20 years, from quilting to fiber arts to clothing design. I have previously worked with small theatre companies to make costumes and set pieces, as well as having done my own costuming work for conventions. I would like to work towards ethical sustainability, both for the items I produce, but also in the

community around me. I believe that the stuff we buy to wear and use should not be disposable as soon as it breaks. Most items like this are often drab and (frankly) boring. So I strive to make practically functional items without sacrificing aesthetic.

Finally finished a skirt test for someone πŸ‘€ reclaimed tshirt skirts anyone?
Measurments are 38" waist, 26" length, pockets each are 13 inches in depth. 98% of the skirt is reclaimed tshirt cotton. The other 2% is for the waistband elastic and thread.

I forgot to post the dress!

This is my best friend's wedding dress, and probably 99% of the reason I've been MIA πŸ˜…

The dress itself is all from scratch from pattern to finishing. The train was taken from her mother's dress and dyed blue. Underneath is a simple muslin petticoat.

This is not the most perfect dress ever to exist, and I will be the first to admit that not ever seam is pretty and a lot of stitching is not straight or even neat.

But this is my first big completed project, and I'm extremely proud of how well it DID turn out. There's no use dwelling on what might have been, but all the reason to love what I've made and learn from the mistakes I made during the process.

Maybe it isn't the glory and fame that's important, but the friends we made and lessons we learned along the way.

My first go at micro crochet granny square. This took me 12 hours and I have a bazillion more to make ☹️ hopefully it gets faster as I get used to working tiny.

Hope y'all's week has been filled with delicious snacks, warm toes and even warmer pets to snuggle with. β™₯️ Stay safe out there

No, these arent aesthetic, but I wanted you all to know that you should read the source material and maybe know how things are supposed to be cut πŸ˜‚ if I had a tracker for my most said phrase of the day, it would be "Tony, where the F**K are the scissors!?"
β €
But this is me, struggling for a good 10 hours to figure out how to put together this petticoat (Yes, I have been watching Bernadette Banner vlogs, why do you ask?) But I guess when I said I only learn by doing that I wasn't wrong πŸ₯² there will be more pics of this shenanigan, and more of an explanation, later.

Hi, I'm Tony, your very own local art gremlin. πŸ‘‹β˜ΊοΈ I'm a (almost) 27 year old q***r, disabled artist living in Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA.

I made this account to try and promote the business I'm trying to get off the ground, but it's probably going to be me just rambling on about my hobbies and the mischief it gets me into. πŸ˜‚ I'm not an good at the nuances of social media, but I AM good at being authentic and I hear people like that. πŸ˜… So I'll try my best!

I'm a jack of all trades artist who likes making functional things, mostly fiber and wood works. I have a lizard named SigriΓ°, and share custody of the house cats Orion, Connie, and Gemini (also known as Beeblett) with my housemates.

I love reading, yoga, cycling, and cleaning. 😷 I can't wait to meet all of you, and make loads of new friends!
