Throwback Thursday! I finished this Halibut Hat by just over a year ago to send Brad off to north of the arctic. Here he is a year later, still in Alaska, still loving the hat and how warm he is. I love seeing people wear and enjoy what I’ve knit them ❤️❤️❤️

My senior daughter is running a fundraiser for dogs for the local animal shelter in Montgomery County! It starts tomorrow and lasts all month long!

We’re looking for -

Unopened food or treats
Blankets or beds
Slightly used/ unused toys
Unopened peanut butter and spray cheese
Bones such as Nylabones, yak chews, bones, etc

There will be a drop bin here at Dogizone, as well as a special promotion if you donate!! Or, if you put it on your porch, she will drop by and pick it up!! Anything helps!!

It’s live!!!!! This pattern has lived in our brains for nearly a year and it’s finally here!! Thank you to everyone who tested and shared feedback, we couldn’t have done it without you! This dynamic duo made it to Number 1 on Ravelry last weekend!!! We can’t believe it and never would have gotten there without all of YOUR support!! Thank you so much!! This journey of designing and publishing patterns has been something I’ve wanted to do for a long time and I’m excited to be doing it. A huge thank you to this beautiful lady in heaven. This is my step mom Bette. She taught me how to knit 😀😀😀 Two years ago today she passed away but I know she’s with my dad watching over me and all my knitty accomplishments, proud as can be. I woke up this morning with my first sweater pattern sitting at #2 on Ravelry’s top 20 patterns and I know I wouldn’t even be knitting without her. She was the person who taught me to knit and to love the craft. She was a master craftswoman herself and always encouraged me, so thank you Bette!!! I hope you’re enjoying knitting in your garden above. Miss you all the time but every time I work a stitch, I think of you and smile 😀

Let’s talk yarn on my new sweater design!! Of course I can never knit just one sample when I design and I’d love to be upset about it but it lets me test several different yarns and I absolutely LOVE a reason to play with yarn!! The red and purple samples of the new Early Morning Hike Pullover are knit in Nua Sport yarn by Carol Feller from Stolen Stitches. The colors used are Angry Monkey (red) and Cafe Flamingo (purple). Nua Sport is cozy luxury! It’s a blend of 60% Merino 20% Linen and 20% Yak. It’s rustic but delightfully soft, blooms beautifully and has incredible drape. It gives amazing and crisp stitch definition and is hard wearing enough to survive daily hikes. I love the slight heather effect that the linen and yak add. It adds so much life and depth to the fabric. Absolutely recommend Nua for this project or ANY project, plus it’s non-superwash, absolute bonus!
