It seemed like a good idea at the time and I know other people have made it work, but my breads just had too much texture to show the detail left behind from my crochet sourdough textured blanket method. This yarn was a type of T-shirt yarn that did not transfer fibers to the bread if anyone is worried about that.

I eventually gave up on the process and decided to keep my two hobbies separate, but I can’t help thinking this really could be something cool.

Anyone have any tips to make this work? My sourdough also produces a good “ear or burst” without scoring so sometimes so wondering if that won’t help.

Slip-stitch bands don’t get enough credit—they make amazing beanie rims. The fabric comes out stretchy, sturdy, and super clean, so your brim keeps its shape and never gets loose or floppy. Plus, that knit-look texture? Chef’s kiss. 👌🏻

This is one of my favorite stitches to use on a brim of a hat because the stretch is perfect and the knit look is stunning. Loose tension is key and proper counting. Try yourself! Practice! These are great for car rides.
�If you want a beanie that fits snug, feels comfy, and looks polished from the very first row, slip-stitch ribbing is the way to go.🧶✨

CH9, slip stitch in the back loop in the second chain from the hook and across. (8) CH1 and repeat! Always make sure you get your count - that last stitch gets buried. You can see me digging for it. Give it a shot!
