“I enjoy perpetual spring; the year is always shining, the earth always in bloom.” – Ovid
This quote comes from Fasti, a collection of poems by the Roman poet Ovid written around 8 CE. It chronicles the festivals celebrated throughout the year. Ovid recalls Floralia, the festival honoring Flora, the goddess of renewal. These words capture the endless magic of spring, when the world bursts into color, life returns & every flower finds its moment to bloom 🌼
Flora herself, was the quiet magic behind every blossom, guiding plants to open, the earth to soften & life to renew. She is a symbol of growth, abundance & the enchanting cycle of becoming 🌱
During Floralia, Romans celebrated her with offerings of flowers, wine & grains & wearing bright colors that mirrored fields of wildflowers. The streets rang with laughter, playful games & performances. It was a living celebration of spring’s joy.
🌷 Every bloom, every color, was a reminder of the magic of growth. We’ll bring that same spirit to life later this week with a Goddess Fit Inspo as a tribute to Flora 🌸
