Greetings Swappers. I wanted to let you all know that I have made the decision to close up shop and no longer plan, to plan future swaps. My job and volunteer/community work have taken me in another direction. I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart, for making my dreams come true. At these events we created so much magic for our community. I see so many lasting friendships formed. I'm still connected to many of you on social media and in the community.
The group of dedicated, hardworking and loyal volunteers we had, made it all worthwhile for me. If you all even KNEW what went on behind the scenses to get the clothes organized, tagged and ready, you'd be amazed. It takes a village. The clothes were the bonus, but the connections were the best part for me through the years. Creating this special place where we could all come together and shop, you KNEW there would be great clothes there IN YOUR SIZE, and you'd be surrounded by other amazing women who would cheer you on or help you style something new.
I'll keep this page open. I still might share other community events to this audience. If anyone wants to start a swap, let me know, I can give you some pointers to start out. And I'd love to SHOP at a swap too! lol. Cheers to you all. Thanks for all the memories and for trusting us with your clothing.
I’m sharing this now because I just finished cleaning out and liquidating all the swap event supplies from my storage and wanted to courteously tell you all that I’ve decided to end this chapter. 💕
Please also know that the funds raised from all of the events went to Feed Sacramento Homeless - We were able to purchase pop-up tents to shade their summer outreach events. We provided signage and other support items for their outreach through the years. I probably didn't share as much as I could have, about the ongoing impact that these swaps had.
The majority of the left over clothing was donated to St. John's Women's Shelter and also the WEAVE thrift store. So we always pay it forward.
Thank you.
