“Sew Much Fun” Sewing Lessons

Interested in private, personalized sewing lessons? If so, I would like to offer my services. Lessons are given in my home on weekdays, between 9am and 4pm. $30 per hour, per student (includes set up and clean up time). Up to 2 students per session. Two-hour sessions are recommended, but not required. You would need to bring your own sewing machine and supplies. In our initial phone conversation, we can assess skill level, supply list, number of students, and lesson schedules. I can meet you and your student, at the fabric store, to make appropriate project choices and to help with fabric selections, etc.
A little about myself. I have a B.A. in Home Economics – Textiles and Clothing, from CSULB. (It’s now called Consumer Sciences). I’ve been sewing since high school and through the years I’ve sewn my own clothes, numerous wedding gowns and bridal parties, prom dresses and formal gowns, custom outfits for the Dickens Fair and equestrian competitions, and Halloween costumes. Of late, I have been focusing on designing handbags and collaborating with my friend in our purse business. I’ve discovered that what I think is a fun and creative outlet, is actually a sought-after skill. I’ve been teaching sewing lessons for 3 years and I find it very enjoyable and rewarding. It is so much fun to see the student proudly show the parent their creations.
