First tip: Let your baby go barefoot! 🐾
Your baby's feet are a great connection to the world around them. 👌🏻
According to the pediatric podiatrist, Neus Moya, "The baby’s feet are very important! They are the entrance of a lot of stimuli. Infants up to 9 or 10 months of age have twice the exteroceptive sensitivity in their feet than in their hands. That means that much more sensitivity enters them through the feet."
Babies should go barefoot when they're learning to walk inside your home as many times possible!
Aidie London also explains:
"Contact between your baby’s feet and the ground below is essential for this process to take place. TOUCH IS CRITICAL so your baby’s feet need to be bare in order for this to happen.
If she’s wearing socks or shoes, they must be thin enough to allow her feet to feel the ground below, while being thick enough to protect her. Walking in rigid, structured or hard sole shoes blocks this process, impairs feedback and also presents the possibility to trauma to the foot.
Your baby’s feet contain soft cartilage rather than dense bones. The cartilage is pliable and susceptible to change shape if compressed in tight or restrictive shoes. If worn for long periods of time, the wrong type of shoes can force her bones to grow out of alignment as they harden".
Are you going to let her walk barefoot? Yes or No? 🤔
