We will be opening at 3 PM today. Unfortunately, our shop and Wabasha Brewing Co were broken into last night, and the thieves got away with money from both businesses.

We’re feeling pretty bummed out, and not just because of what was taken from us but because it reminds us that so many people are struggling in ways that our society and government continue to ignore. Situations like this do not happen in a vacuum. We believe that people are shaped by the conditions that surround them. Poverty, trauma, addiction issues, housing insecurity, lack of healthcare, and the systems that leave people behind all have consequences! This is no excuse for the harm done to our small businesses, but we can hold both truths at the same time.

Thank you to everybody who has supported and cared for our corner! Backstory Coffee Roasters was also broken into this week. We hope you’ll keep us in mind, we could all use a little extra community support right now!

We will continue our partnership with First Avenue to do ticket giveaways for events happening at their different venues across the Twin Cities! Next up is Man Man with DEATH VALLEY GIRLS at Turf Club this Friday, July 17th 2026! We have a pair of tickets for one lucky winner!

When Man Man released its last album, Dream Hunting in the Valley of the In Between, frontman Honus Honus (né Ryan Kattner) was in a state of unrest, oscillating between hope and cynicism. Perhaps fittingly, the album ended up dropping during the pandemic. (We could all relate.) But much like that bizarre turn of global events, the ennui seems so distant now to Man Man’s creative force, whose revived sense of purpose washes through Carrot on Strings, his latest release, which radiates a mix of calm and confidence. Kattner always embodied a wild-man pied-piper vibe: his melodic, art-rock output just unhinged enough that it was at once intriguing and angsty. He was so alluringly creative that you went along with it, even if you were never sure where Man Man would take you. Carrot on Strings is no less inventive, but its ethos is radical in context of the band’s two-decade, idiosyncratic career.

On their latest album, Islands in the Sky, LA’s scrappy rock n’ roll mystics Death Valley Girls’ songwriting mastermind Bonnie Bloomgarden uses the band’s anthemic revelries as a guidebook to spiritual healing and a roadmap for future incarnations of the self. And while these may be the loftiest aims of Death Valley Girls to date, the resulting music is also by far their most infectious and celebratory.

Yeehaw 😭🤠

I host karaoke at the The White Squirrel Bar every third Sunday of the month at 9 PM! We’re doing another round of sad songs but this time we’re singing country! This prompt is a suggestion, not a requirement.

100% of my karaoke tips will be donated to Rising Waters Mutual Aid - they are actively raising money and doing donation drives in preparation for Pigs Eye Park and other encampment evictions! This is a humanitarian crisis, as camp evictions have proven to be dangerous for the residents that rely on these communities for support and safety! Please join us on Wednesday, July 15th at 3:30PM at the St. Paul City Council Chambers to demand that the City stop the eviction process of these encampments! There is no real solution to help these folks out, just a plan to demolish their community! 😡

This is about all the time we’ve got for social media today! Thank you Backstory Coffee Roasters for hosting the oklittletrinketmarket today! It’s been a near record breaking day of sales at our shop. A much needed day after a few hard weeks!

I’m at The White Squirrel Bar for Pet Rock! It’s a benefit for pets. It’s hot out there, people! Come stay hydrated with me at the Squirrel 😉 goes until 7pm! There will be dogs!

Lots of you remember us from our big garage sale at our house last summer! We advertised it as the “A Real Deal Garage Sale” and nothing was over $10! It was a massive success but now that we’ve got our shop - we can’t really do garage sales at our home anymore!

Our customers have been asking us to bring this sale back this summer, so of course we’ve decided to do a big ole clearance sale on the sidewalk outside of our shop and Wabasha Brewing Co because we’ve got way too much s**t! And exactly 2 storage units chalked full of things we are ready to let go from our South St. Paul days!
