If you would’ve told me 12 days ago that I would become a sourdough girlie, I probably would’ve laughed in your face. 😂 But here I am… emotionally attached to a jar of flour and water named Dora. 🥖✨
Let me tell you… this sourdough journey has tested me. These last 12 days have been a whole adventure of excitement, confusion, overthinking, and me staring at bubbles like they’re a major scientific discovery. 😂
“Is she rising enough?”
“Did I feed her right?”
“Does she look happy?”
“Am I being dramatic?”
(The answer is probably yes to that last one 🤣)
But honestly, I’ve loved watching this little starter come to life. I’m so excited for the day Dora is finally mature enough for me to bake my first real loaf with her.
Of course, because apparently I like to make things interesting, I already have a whole jar of discard sitting in my fridge. So naturally, instead of letting it stare at me every time I open the door, I decided to take a leap and make sourdough crackers. 😂
They are currently in the oven, and now we wait… Will they be crispy little pieces of sourdough magic? Or did I just create fancy flour rocks? Only time will tell. 🤞🤣
Either way, I’m having way too much fun with this journey.
And once Dora is mature, happy, and thriving, if anyone wants to start their own sourdough adventure, I would absolutely love to share a little piece of her with you. ❤️🥖
Here’s to the bubbles, the chaos, the overthinking, and embracing my new sourdough mom era. 😂
